MICROBLADING PRE CARE

Note:Each client’s skin responds differently to these treatments.
This information acts as a guideline only.

What should I do before my appointment?

Please refrain from all activities that may cause irritation of the skin or thinning of the blood prior to your appointment:

  • Refrain from alcohol consumption 24 hours before receiving Microblading

  • Refrain from suntanning, microdermabrasion, derma-planing, laser treatment, and chemical peels 7-10 days before receiving Microblading.

  • Refrain from all medications that cause thinning of the blood including but not limited to: Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Niacin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, and Ibuprofen. Please consult your physician before stopping any medication.

  • Refrain from consuming coffee and energy drinks the day of your appointment.

  • If you are to receive any waxing or hair removal in the treated area, please allow a minimum of 2-3 days between your appointments for the skin to heal.

You must be off any and all Retin-A or Retinol products for a minimum of 7 days prior to your appointment and 30 days post appointment. These products can cause premature and extreme color loss. If you decide to continue your Retin-A or Retinol use do not apply on the treated area and please keep in mind that Sanctum Brows is not responsible for the loss of color in your cosmetic tattoo.

If you are experiencing any blemishes, acne, cold sores, any other skin irritations, or have a mole in or around the area of procedure please contact Sanctum Brows immediately via e-mail for a consultation. It is up to the discretion of our artists to decide whether or not they have a workable surface. Failure to communicate any of these may result in a cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment. All deposits are nonrefundable.

If possible, please attend your Microblading appointment with a cleansed face. A workable surface is key to a successful session.

If you receive Botox, please ensure you leave 3-4 weeks in between sessions to ensure it doesn't effect the overall symmetry of your new cosmetic tattoo.

We refrain from working on individuals on Accutane and require our clients to be off the medication for a minimum of 1 year before receiving Microblading.

Please ensure you come to the appointment well hydrated and well fed. The process takes several hours and we want to ensure you're in a state of comfort.

Sensitivity is heightened during menstrual cycles.

If you are on antibiotics, email your artist at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to reschedule.

Please refrain from bringing guests, if necessary, a single guest is permitted to attend your appointment. Space and maximum room occupancy is limited.

If you have been diagnosed with cancer or any extreme illnesses in the past, we require for you to have been in remission for a minimum of 1 year and have a signed note by a licensed physician in order to receive Microblading. The safety of our clients is our first priority.

Note: Although we've seen excellent results achieved in a single session, it is best to come in with the mindset that multiple session are sometimes required to achieve optimal results. Touch ups give us an opportunity to see how your skin heals, review pigment retention, and make any necessary adjustments.

LONG TERM CARE

  • This is a 2 step process. The First Session is used to build shape and gain symmetry. The Second Session is used to perfect the brows and we can add density. This is a process and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result.

  • Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

  • Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.

  • If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.

  • Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.
